This is the…

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014

You might have noticed that the DF website is now linking through to our DF Blog, the reason being that we’re currently hatching new plans at DF HQ for a brand spanking new website which will hopefully be appearing soonish*!

The old site had served us well over the years but the landscape that is the th’internet, as my mum calls it, has changed completely and we couldn’t ignore it any longer. So the time has come for change, in the meantime we’ll try to post more regularly on the blog and share some of our new work when we get a spare 5 mins.

Please pop by from time to time and watch this space!

*Soonish is a technical term for…
“We’ve been trying to design our new website for the past 2 years, work keeps getting in the way and realistically it could be another 6 months until we’re done!”

Design Friendship Playlist 2012

Friday, January 18th, 2013

New year = new playlist. But before we go ahead and create a new playlist we thought we’d share our 2012 playlist with you. The playlist contains 100 songs we listened in the studio throughout the year. We’re also aiming to create regular shorter playlists for you to enjoy.

E5 Bakehouse

Friday, January 11th, 2013

We decided to follow on from last year’s Christmas screen printing extravaganza by doing something hands on again this year, and since we’ve had a few small bake offs in the office recently we decided to go to E5 Bakehouse for our Christmas Party, where we learnt how to bake a variety of breads including the bakeries famous Hackney Wild (a classic pain de campagne), bagels, ciabatta and a 66% rye bread.

E5 Bakehouse is an artisan bakehouse and coffee shop in the railway arches near London Fields. As well as selling bread in store and baking bread for local restaurants, E5 Bakehouse also offer fresh lunches including sandwiches made from the day’s batch of sourdough, salads and homemade cakes – all locally sourced, organic and at decent prices.

Our course leader for the day was Ben, the brains behind E5 Bakehouse and a very nice chap indeed. The course is very hands on and by the end of it we all walked home with enough bread to feed a small village. We had a great time and E5 Bakehouse is definitely worth a visit whether you want to learn to make bread or you simply want to buy a loaf of delicious, handmade artisan bread.

Last Day of the Tache: Please Donate

Wednesday, November 30th, 2011

One month in the making and here’s the final result guys. If that’s not worth a donation I don’t know what is. So please dig deep and help us in our attempt to raise money for charity. Small donations are also very welcome. Please donate here.

Movember – Week 2

Monday, November 14th, 2011

End of week 2 and the moustache growing is in full swing and top lips are being covered, combed and cultivated. Unfortunately we haven’t been equally as successful as each other in our tache growing efforts. James (top left) impressive Magnum P.I style tache and DF friend Jon’s (bottom left) expert face furniture have highlighted intern Craig’s (bottom left) somewhat patchy effort. In fairness to Craig he is the youngest in our group. DF friend Dean (bottom center) is aiming for the Daley Thopmson look. And me – I’m doing OK, I guess.

We’ve raised £250 to date. Fantastic stuff. Big thank you to all our generous supporters. But we’re still £500 short of our target of £750, so please donate and help us reach our goal. We’re always grateful for any amount we get, big or small, and we’d really appreciate your help. Click here to donate.

Watch this face

Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in the UK and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

DF and friends are joining the fun and are making the sacrifice of looking totally pathetic for a month to help raise awareness of prostate cancer. Please visit our Movember page and help us raise some money for charity or even better, join our team. I will be posting our progress soon (there’s not much to see, yet).

Please donate.

DF in Innovative Stationery Graphics

Friday, September 30th, 2011

Received the book “Innovative Stationery Graphics” in the post today which features some of our work. The book is by Barcelona based publisher Mosa.

Here’s the book description: “Innovative Stationery Graphics gather together some of the more interesting stationery projects in terms of those having the capacity to reflect the very essence of the company for which they were created. Some of the projects included on this amazing title are quite serious and loyal to the spirit of that particular company, while some others go much further and allow their creativity to roam free in favor of more impacting imagery. We present this book to you, but the projects will present themselves.”

Always nice to have our work featured in a book.

DF in NOVUM Magazine (01/2011)

Tuesday, December 21st, 2010

We’ve been featured in the latest issue of Novum Magazine with 3 double page spreads.

“Novum is a German magazine covering the world of graphic design. It reports on industry news, technology, trends, book reviews, job opportunities, and more.”

Definitely worth checking out if you can get your hands on a copy, and not only because of the article about us.
