Ooooo Bei Corridori Italiani

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011

Came across Ray Dobbins site today which is packed full of the most beautifully classic, old school Italian racing bikes. I love finding sites like this where you can geek off for an hour or so instead of working through that ever growing to do list!

Ray’s site has a simple homemade feel, which is part of it’s charm, but dig a little deeper and WOW. The collection of Italian racing bikes span across the 1970’s and 80’s each one in immaculate showroom condition and all have been lovingly shot and catalogued by Ray.

My personal favourite is 1971-72 Colnago Super (58c-c) but if I’m honest I wouldn’t kick any of them out of bed for eating biscuits! So if you’ve got lots of work on that you really can’t be bothered with head over and geek off.

Got, got, need, need, want, want…

DF’s new favourite site Sneakerpedia launched to the world the other day and features DF Bestival Buddy James Mosley prized collection.

So if you’re the kind of person who knows your Puma First Rounds from your Nike Air Force 1 Foamposites, then get yourself over to Sneakerpedia. The idea behind the site is simple – sneakerheads the world over become members of the site, where they can upload pictures of their kicks and ogle the vast collections of others.

With some pretty serious collectors already adding to the online archive, the site is straight up sneaker porn for enthusiasts across the world. Existing contributors include Bobbito Garcia of the Rock Steady Crew and New York’s DJ Clarke Kent, who is famed in sneaker circles for owning pretty much every Air Force 1 made. And with the option to search by brand, stitching, linings, or colourways, it’s easy to hunt down any sneakers you want to buy, and admire those you can only dream of owning.

This week DF received an email from Leeds based design student Adam Morten asking if we could set him a 24hr brief as part of his Smalls project.

We duly obliged with the brief, Invent a new colour.

24hrs later a letter arrived at DF HQ informing us that the finished result awaited us on the Smalls website. First we have to say what a great idea this is for a final year project and secondly how impressed we are with the result.

Great work Adam and we look forward to seeing what you get up to in the coming weeks.

Blood, sweat and tears…
