Clever Concrete

Thursday, May 19th, 2011

Following on from the previous post about clever ideas that have the potential to help others, we came across Concrete Canvas via the always amazing BBC website. Every now and again you see something and think ‘genius’ and Concrete Canvas is one of those moments.

The possibilities for good with this invention are amazing, especially when you think how many people around the world have lost there homes recently to natural disasters and it’s also reassuring to hear from the inventors that they won’t be selling out to the likes of Mr Gaddafi etc.

La Maison Fontaine® takes Gold

Sunday, March 13th, 2011

Last week we found out that the great and the good of the Absinthe world who had gathered for the prestigious Absinthe Masters 2011, had very kindly awarded the DF designed La Maison Fontaine® the Gold award in the Design Category as well as the Silver award in the non-coloured spirit category. This comes on the back of winning 3 Golds; Best in Class & Gold International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC), Golden Spoon at world renowned 2010 Absinthiades and Gold (and a Silver) at the Absinthe Masters 2010. All in all not a bad start!

Concept Suitcase from Orishiki

Sunday, March 13th, 2011

We came across this stunning project from Naoki Kawamoto on Behance and thought it more than deserved a plug on our little blog. The only problem is this is only a prototype and we can’t rush down to Selfridges and get our grubby hands on one. Head over to Behance and you will also be able to check out a rather cool looking glasses case plus a really nice overview of the project.
